Nero Lite 8.1 is a stripped-down version of Ahead's Nero Burning Rom. It includes all the features that are present in its big brother but does without its not-so-needed components. The install file is considerably smaller and the program starts faster and runs smoother. Just like its big sibling, Nero Lite 8.1 allows the user to burn data discs onto CD, DVD, DL DVD, HD-DVD and Blue Ray Discs. It also allows for image burning, and supports most formats out there. Users can also burn their music files (mp3, cda, wav, asf, etc) onto a CD that can be played on regular CD players using the Audio CD option. Disc to disc copy is also available as it would be expected from such a powerful and popular burning suite. Nero Lite does not include most of Nero's additional applications, thus making the installation file smaller and relieving your computer from having such an array of programs that are barely seldom used. In version 8.1, Nero Lite adds the newly released Nero 8 components and improves performance by doing a general clean-up of the programs core components. This is an ideal application for those who only need a basic burning suite but do not want all the extras.
